What is a "Student Annotation" Assignment type?

A "Student Annotation" assignment on Canvas is a type of assignment where students interact directly with a document provided by the instructor, using Canvas's built-in annotation tools. This feature allows students to mark up a document with highlights, comments, or other annotations to demonstrate their understanding, engage in critical analysis, or complete guided activities.

Uses:

  • Annotating a text passage to analyze literary elements.
  • Labeling parts of a diagram in science or anatomy.
