Video owners can make their videos downloadable to others using two methods: Embed Video in Canvas Page using Download Player and Enabling the Downloads Tab. They can enable downloads in the Downloads tab of each video or videos can be embedded into Canvas pages using a download player. Instructions for both methods are outlined below.

Method 2: Enabling the Downloads Tab

If you do not have access to a Canvas course or the My Media link is not activated in your course, My Media in Canvas can also be accessed by clicking the Account link in the Global Navigation and selecting the My Media link that is listed in the fly-out window. For more information, visit the How to access My Media in Canvas guide.

2. Click the "Pencil" icon of the video that you would like to make downloadable.

3. [1] Select the "Downloads" tab, [2] check the box for "Source" option under Available Formats and [3] click the "Save" button.

To make a Zoom recording available for download, also check the box for "Source (from Zoom recording) option.

Videos must be published to the course Media Gallery in order for viewers to access the download link. For more information, see the article "How do I publish my videos to Media Gallery in Canvas?"
