Below are the Canvas Course requirements that will need to be met in order for your Canvas Gradebook to be imported correctly to CIS.
Apply the Default Grading Scheme
To ensure Canvas can calculate letter grades correctly, the Canvas Default Grading Scheme must applied within the Settings page of your Canvas Course. For detailed steps on how to apply the Grading Scheme, please see the apply a grading scheme to your course guide.
Ensure all Assignments are Graded
If there are published ungraded assignments within your course, you will receive an error when attempting to import final grades to CIS. To avoid this error, please be sure that a grade is entered for all students within each published assignment in your course.
If a student's has no submission for an assignment, within the Canvas Gradebook enter either a zero for their assignment's grade or mark the students submission as "excused". It is important that no cells within the Canvas Gradebook are left blank.
For instructions on how to mark an assignment as "excused", please visit the How do I change the status of a submission in the Gradebook? guide. If you would like to apply the same score for multiple cells in the same column with a few steps, please follow the How do I apply scores to ungraded assignments as an Instructor? guide.
Post All Grades
If any assignments are hidden (muted), be sure to "post" grades prior to submitting final course grades in CIS. This will ensure that all scores are included in the final grade calculation. For further instructions, please visit the How do I post grades for an assignment in the Gradebook? guide.
Ungraded Assignments
For assignments that you do wish to be included in the final grade, please be sure that those assignments are either "unpublished" in Canvas or marked as "ungraded" in their assignment settings. For further instruction on unpublishing, please visit the How do I publish or unpublish an assignment as an instructor? guide. For further instruction on marking an assignment as "ungraded", please visit the How do I add or edit details in an assignment? guide.
