1. Click the "Discussions" link from a course navigation
5. Create, Upload, or Select Video
There are four options for creating, uploading, or selecting a video to reply to a discussion.
Upload a pre-created video stored on your computer's hard drive to your My Media and then it can be selected to be added to your discussion reply. This is a great way to submit a video you have pre-recorded. This is a popular option when you need to share, demonstrate or showcase an activity that happened in real time. For more information, visit the How do I upload a video file to My Media in Canvas guide and start at Step 2.
You can create a webcam and screen recording on the fly using the Kaltura Capture Desktop Recorder. This software is required and will automatically open when you select Webcam and Screen Recording while in My Media. This is a popular option when creating personal introductions and PowerPoint presentations. For more information, visit the How do I record a webcam/screen capture video in My Media in Canvas guide and start at Step 2.
You can create a webcam-only recording quickly with no software downloads using the Kaltura Express Webcam Recorder. For more information, visit the How do I record a webcam-only video in My Media in Canvas guide and start at Step 2.
If you have already created an amazing video and it is still in your My Media, you won't need to recreate one. This is a popular option for reusing personal introductions. In your My Media, click the "Embed" button next to the video you want to use.
