How to Set Up Poll Everywhere in your Canvas Course

Before You Begin

In order to use the Poll Everywhere LTI Advantage Canvas integration, it is recommended to first publish the course.

Enable Poll Everywhere in your Course Navigation Menu

Follow the steps provided in the How to Enable Items in your Course Navigation guide.

Access Poll Everywhere

From your Course Homepage, click Poll Everywhere in the Course Navigation Menu, then select "Continue to utah.instructure.com" in the box to the right.

Type your email address that you have set as your default email in Canvas, and click Next.

The Next option will change for you to click Log in with University of Utah.

From here, you will prompted to enter your University of Utah password. Your Password will be the same one that you use to log in to Canvas or CIS.

By default, your main Canvas email address is normally set to [email protected]. EX: [email protected].

If your are not sure what your default email is in Canvas, follow these steps:

  1. Click your Profile Image in the top right corner of Canvas, then click "Settings".
  2. Your default email will show on the right under "Email Addresses" and will have a Star Icon to the left of it. 

Sync the Course Roster

After you have successfully signed in, click the Sync Roster button. This will import the students from your course into Poll Everywhere.

View Participants

Click the Participants button in the left hand menu (shown in the screenshot below). Once on the participants page, you will be able to verify that the import took place because there will be a new group named after your course.
