Removal of Canvas Ally Accessibility Tool

Updated on

What Canvas Ally Looked Like

Accessibility score indicators (color-coded gauges)

Canvas Ally previously provided:

  • Accessibility score indicators (color-coded gauges)
  • Inline feedback and issue identification
  • Alternative format downloads for students

UDOIT-New Accessibility Tool

Canvas course navigation menu with TidyUP and UDOIT links highlighted, alongside icons and descriptions of DesignPLUS, UDOIT (course accessibility fixes), and TidyUP (course cleanup and file management) tools.

UDIOIT provides:

  • Course-level accessibility reports
  • Detailed issue breakdowns with guidance
  • Actionable steps to improve accessibility
  • A centralized view of accessibility across course content

Unlike Ally’s inline indicators, UDIOIT focuses on comprehensive reports and structured remediation workflows.

  1. Access UDIOIT through your institution’s provided link.
  2. Run a course accessibility scan.
  3. Review identified issues and prioritize fixes.
  4. Update course materials based on UDIOIT recommendations.
