How do I present wirelessly in classrooms using Airmedia?

General Assignment classrooms on the University of Utah campus feature wireless presentation using Airmedia. This feature allows users to present on the room display without using any connection cables. To present to your classrooms display using Airmedia, follow the steps below.

1. Power on and select "Airmedia"

Turn on av system using System Power button. Then select the Airmedia input button.

2. Install Crestron Airmedia app (First-time users)

If you already have the Crestron Airmedia app installed, skip this step.

In a browser, go to the Crestron Airmedia app download page. Download and install the Windows or Mac OS Guest Application on your laptop.  To install the app for mobile devices, search for "Crestron Airmedia" in the Apple or Google app stores.  

 

3. Connect to Wi-Fi

Make sure you are connected to UConnect wi-fi. Open the Airmedia app using the Airmedia icon.

4. Enter Crestron IP address

Enter the IP address from the left bottom corner of the Crestron splash screen and click Connect.

5. Enter Code

Enter the code from that appears on the Crestron splash screen and hit OK.

6. Mac Users - Select the Airmedia device IP in Airplay

After connecting in the Airmedia app, Mac users will need to take the additional step of selecting the Airmedia device using Airplay.  When prompted, open up the Screen Mirroring option on your Mac and select the IP Address from the list of available Airplay devices. Then enter the code from the Crestron splash screen and hit OK.

Note: If you are using a University-managed machine, some older versions of Forcepoint may block Airmedia from showing in Airplay on Mac devices.  Please check with your departmental IT specialist to ensure your have the latest version of Forcepoint installed on your machine.
